ABout Dr Singh
FACE Psychiatry was established by Dr Yolisha Singh in 2016 to cater for and manage the rapidly increasing demand for her expertise in the provision of Medicolegal Assessments.
As the NSW Clinical Director of Adolescent Mental Health for Justice Health & the Forensic Mental Health Network, Dr Singh offers high levels of experience and expertise in the field of Forensic Psychiatry. As a Senior Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry, Dr Singh has worked for many years with Adults, Children and Families within the legal system. Over the years she has worked and undertaken assessments at notable forensic institutions across NSW and Victoria including; Long Bay Prison, Silverwater Prison, The Forensic Hospital NSW, Thomas Embling Hospital VIC and all the metro Juvenile Justice Centres across Sydney and Melbourne.
Dr Singh is conversant with providing Expert Evidence and undergoing cross-examination in the Family, Local, District and Supreme Courts, as well as in Tribunals. Her experience provides a thorough understanding of the Medicolegal interface for both criminal and civil matters.
Dr Singh is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists holding Certification of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry as well as in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She also continues as a member of the UK’s Royal College of Psychiatrists. Additional specialised qualifications include the; evaluation of psychopathy, risk assessment of the mentally ill, assessing violence risk and aggression management. Dr Singh is also an Accredited Supervisor in Forensic Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She is a member of the Special Interest Group in Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry (RANZCP) and editor of their newsletter.
Additionally, Dr Singh often presents at National and International Forensic Conferences, including recently being asked to speak at the International Academy of Law & Mental Health Conference in Vienna. She conducts research and publishes on Forensic Psychiatry Matters. Dr Singh is a conjoint lecturer for the Forensic Masters Program with the School of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW.
Dr Singh has considerable experience in working with legal professionals. In all instances, it is her practice to conduct a thorough assessment and to provide a timely detailed psychiatric report.
